How is the Moroccan baccalaureate average calculated?
The overall average for the Moroccan baccalaureate combines three components with fixed weights:
| Component | Weight | When |
|---|---|---|
| Continuous assessment | 25% | Tests during the 2nd bac year |
| Regional exam | 25% | End of the 1st bac year |
| National exam | 50% | End of the 2nd bac year |
Average = continuous × 0.25 + regional × 0.25 + national × 0.5. Example: 15, 12 and 11 give 3.75 + 3 + 5.5 = 12.25 — a pass with “Fairly good”.
How to use the calculator
- Enter your continuous assessment grade and regional exam average (out of 20).
- If you've taken the national exam, enter its average to see your result and honours instantly.
- If not, pick a target (10, 12, 14 or 16) to see the minimum national exam grade you need.
- Don't know an exam average? Open the subjects section and enter each subject's grade and coefficient.
Honours
- 10 to under 12: Pass
- 12 to under 14: Fairly good
- 14 to under 16: Good
- 16 and above: Very good
Tip
Because the national exam counts for half of the average, each extra point there is worth twice a point in the other components. Focus revision on your stream's high-coefficient subjects. This tool gives an estimate using the standard formula; official results come from the Ministry of National Education.
