What is the invoice generator?
A free tool to create a professional invoice, quote or receipt in minutes, then print it or save it as a PDF straight from your browser. Enter your details, the client's details and the line items; the tool calculates each line, the discount, the tax and the grand total automatically, and shows a live preview of the document exactly as it will print. It works in Arabic, French and English and supports Arab and international currencies such as the Moroccan dirham, Saudi riyal, UAE dirham, Egyptian pound, US dollar and euro.
How to create an invoice in a minute
- Choose the document type (invoice, quote or receipt) and the currency.
- Check the document number, issue date and due date (pre-filled, all editable).
- Enter your business name, address, contact details and tax IDs, and add your logo if you like.
- Enter the client's name and details.
- Add the items: description, quantity and unit price. Click “Add item” for each extra product or service.
- Set the discount, tax rate and shipping if any, and write your payment terms and bank details in the notes.
- Click “Print / Save as PDF”, then choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog to get a file you can send.
What a good invoice should include
- A unique sequential number for every invoice (INV-2026-001, then 002…) with no gaps or duplicates.
- Issue date and due date, so the client knows when to pay.
- Full seller identity: trading name, address, contact details and legal/tax identifiers. In Morocco, for example, company invoices usually show the ICE, IF and RC numbers.
- Client details: name, address and tax ID if it is a business.
- A clear description of each item with quantity, unit price and amount.
- Amount before tax, tax rate and amount, and the final total.
- Payment method and terms: bank transfer (IBAN), cash, etc.
Invoice vs quote vs receipt
| Document | When | What makes it different |
|---|---|---|
| Quote | Before the work or sale | Proposes a price and a validity period; the client pays nothing until they accept. |
| Invoice | After the sale or service | Requests payment with a due date; it is the core accounting document. |
| Receipt | After payment is received | Proves the money was paid and shows “Amount received” instead of an amount due. |
How totals are calculated
Each line = quantity × unit price. The discount is taken off the subtotal, tax is calculated on the discounted amount, and shipping is added last (untaxed). Example: 3 × 250 = 750; 10% discount = 75, leaving 675; 20% tax = 135; plus 30 shipping gives a total of 840.
Tax rates depend on the country and the activity: the standard VAT rate is, for example, 20% in Morocco, 15% in Saudi Arabia and 5% in the UAE, with reduced rates or exemptions for some goods and services. If you are not registered for tax, leave the rate at 0.
Important note on e-invoicing
Some countries require tax-registered businesses to issue invoices through approved electronic systems — Saudi Arabia's “Fatoora” system, for instance, requires specific formats and QR codes. This tool does not produce official e-invoices of that kind; it is ideal for quotes, receipts, freelancers and small businesses where paper or PDF invoices are accepted. When in doubt, check with your accountant or tax authority.
Tips to get paid faster
- Send the invoice as soon as the work is done.
- Use precise terms such as “payment within 15 days” rather than “as soon as possible”.
- Put your full bank details in the notes so the client doesn't have to ask.
- Keep a PDF copy of every invoice, filed by number and date.
Your data stays private
Everything happens in your browser: your details, logo and amounts are never sent to any server. Your draft is saved automatically in this browser only, so it is there when you come back; the “New document” button clears it.
