Tired of typing a password every time you open a bank statement or invoice? Unlock PDF saves a copy without the password and removes printing, copying and editing restrictions — you enter the password just once.
How to use it
- Choose the protected PDF.
- Enter the file password if asked.
- Click “Unlock PDF” and download the unprotected copy.
Features
- Remove the open password when you know it.
- Remove printing, copying and editing restrictions.
- AES and RC4 encryption supported.
- Processed on your device only.
When you need this tool
- Bank statements and e-invoices often arrive protected with a password set by the bank or provider, so you type it every time.
- Before merging or converting: tools like Merge PDF and PDF to Word need an unprotected copy.
- Uploading to a portal that rejects password-protected files.
- Printing a file you own whose author blocked printing by mistake.
If you see “wrong password”
- Check capitalisation — passwords are case-sensitive.
- Check the keyboard language; it may be set to Arabic while the password uses Latin letters.
- Re-read the message that came with the file — many senders explain the format (part of an ID number, a birth date…).
Note: anyone can read the unlocked copy, so store it safely and don't leave it on a shared computer.
Privacy and security
“Unlock PDF” runs entirely in your browser using trusted open-source libraries. Your files are never uploaded to a server and no copy is kept, so your documents stay private. It is free and needs no sign-up.
Tip: Only use it on files you own or are authorized to unlock. A file cannot be opened without its password.
