Scan to PDF

Use your phone camera to scan documents into a clean PDF.

This tool runs entirely in your browser — no data is uploaded to our servers.

Was this tool helpful?

Turn your phone into a scanner: photograph receipts, contracts or homework, and images are auto-enhanced to look like a scan with a white background and crisp text, then combined into one PDF.

How to use it

  1. Tap “Use camera” or choose photos from your gallery.
  2. Pick an enhancement: original, document or black & white, and reorder pages.
  3. Tap “Create PDF” and download.

Features

  • Automatic contrast and lighting enhancement.
  • Sharp black & white mode for text.
  • Phone orientation fixed, manual rotation.
  • A4 or US Letter.

Steps for scanner-quality results

  1. Light: daylight near a window beats a ceiling light that casts your phone's shadow on the page.
  2. Background: lay the page on a flat, dark surface so its edges stand out.
  3. Angle: shoot straight from above with the phone parallel to the page.
  4. Enhancement: “Black & white” for text and contracts, “Document” when there are coloured stamps or signatures, “Original” for photos.

After scanning

  • Make the text searchable and copyable with OCR.
  • If the file is over an upload limit, use Compress PDF.
  • To add scanned pages to an existing file, use Merge PDF.

Privacy and security

“Scan to PDF” runs entirely in your browser using trusted open-source libraries. Your files are never uploaded to a server and no copy is kept, so your documents stay private. It is free and needs no sign-up.

Tip: Shoot on a dark surface in good light without shadows for the best result.
