A PDF that will not open or shows an error after an interrupted download? Repair PDF rebuilds the internal structure and cross-reference table; if damage is severe, readable pages are recovered as images so you keep your content.
How to use it
- Choose the damaged file (or several).
- Click “Repair PDF”.
- Download the repaired copy and check it.
Features
- Rebuilds the cross-reference table and structure.
- Deep page recovery for severe damage.
- Repair several files at once.
- Clear result for each file.
Common causes of PDF damage
- A download or connection interrupted before the file finished.
- Unplugging a USB drive before copying ended.
- Email or chat attachments damaged in transit or compression.
- Old or non-standard PDF-creation software.
Before using the repair tool
- Try opening the file in another browser or PDF reader — sometimes the problem is the app, not the file.
- If it came from email or a website, download it again; that often fixes it.
- Check the size: a 0 KB file, or one much smaller than expected, didn't finish downloading — ask for a new copy.
After repairing, open the file and check every page. If some pages come back as images, restore searchable text with OCR.
Privacy and security
“Repair PDF” runs entirely in your browser using trusted open-source libraries. Your files are never uploaded to a server and no copy is kept, so your documents stay private. It is free and needs no sign-up.
Tip: Heavily truncated files (only a small part downloaded) may not be fully recoverable.
