Compare PDF

Spot the differences between two PDF versions, by text or visually.

This tool runs entirely in your browser — no data is uploaded to our servers.

Was this tool helpful?

Review revised contracts and proposals without reading every line. Compare two versions side by side with removed words in red and added words in green, or use visual comparison to highlight any change in the page layout.

How to use it

  1. Choose both files: the original, then the revised one.
  2. Pick text or visual comparison.
  3. Click “Compare” and review.

Features

  • Word-level additions and deletions.
  • Side-by-side view with a summary.
  • Visual mode reveals image and design changes.
  • Arabic documents supported.

When do you need to compare?

  • A contract returned by the other party: make sure no clause, amount or term changed without notice.
  • An updated quote: see at once which prices and quantities changed.
  • A new version of a policy or manual: review only the changes instead of 40 pages.
  • Designs and print files: visual comparison reveals a changed logo, colour or image.

Tips for accurate comparison

  • Put the old version first and the new one second, so red means removed and green means added.
  • Watch numbers, dates and negations (“shall” vs “shall not”) — one word can flip the meaning.
  • If one version is scanned, run OCR on it first so text comparison works.

Privacy and security

“Compare PDF” runs entirely in your browser using trusted open-source libraries. Your files are never uploaded to a server and no copy is kept, so your documents stay private. It is free and needs no sign-up.

Tip: Text mode suits contracts; visual mode suits designs and scans.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with scans?

Use visual mode, or run OCR first.

Are my contracts uploaded?

No, the comparison runs on your device.

Will it catch one changed number in a table?

Yes, text comparison highlights changed words and numbers; for complex tables, visual comparison helps too.

Can I compare a Word file with a PDF?

Convert the Word file with Word to PDF first, then compare the two PDFs.
