What is the COD Profit Calculator?

When you sell with cash on delivery, not every order from your ads turns into money. Some orders are never confirmed on the phone, and some confirmed orders are refused at the door and come back to you with a return fee. This calculator follows an order through each of those stages and shows your real net profit, your profit per delivered order, and the most you can pay per lead before you start losing money.

How to use it

  1. Choose your currency, then enter the selling price and the product cost.
  2. Enter the number of incoming orders from the campaign and the total ad spend for the same period.
  3. Enter your confirmation rate (confirmed ÷ incoming) and delivery rate (delivered ÷ confirmed), taken from your store or courier dashboard.
  4. Add shipping, return, packaging and phone-confirmation costs, plus the COD collection fee if your courier charges one.
  5. Results update instantly: net profit, a cost breakdown and the minimum delivery rate you need to cover your costs.

How the numbers are calculated

  • Confirmed orders = incoming orders × confirmation rate.
  • Delivered orders = confirmed × delivery rate; returned = confirmed − delivered.
  • Revenue = delivered × selling price (you only collect cash for delivered parcels).
  • Costs = cost of delivered products + shipping on delivered + return fees + packaging and confirmation on every shipped order + COD fee + ads.
  • Break-even delivery rate is the delivery rate at which net profit is exactly zero, all else unchanged.

Who is it for?

  • Online sellers using cash on delivery in Morocco, the Gulf, Egypt and other COD-heavy markets.
  • Media buyers on Facebook or TikTok who want to know an acceptable cost per lead before scaling.
  • Anyone comparing two products, two couriers or two call centers.

Practical tips

  • Use at least two weeks to a month of data; single-day numbers swing a lot.
  • Raising your delivery rate is often cheaper than lowering ad costs: clear confirmation of address and price, fast shipping and a reminder on delivery day.
  • If your break-even delivery rate is close to your current rate, your margin is thin and a small drop can turn the campaign into a loss.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between confirmation rate and delivery rate?

Confirmation rate is the share of incoming orders that customers confirm by phone. Delivery rate is the share of confirmed, shipped orders that customers actually receive and pay for.

Why is product cost counted only on delivered orders?

Because the item in a returned order goes back to your stock. If some returns are damaged or lost, add the value of that loss to the return fee per order.

What is cost per lead (CPL)?

It is your ad spend divided by the number of incoming orders. The tool also shows the maximum CPL you can afford before the campaign starts losing money.

Is the tool free, and does it store my numbers?

Yes, it is free with no sign-up, and everything is calculated in your browser. Only your chosen currency is remembered on your device.
